Fort Wayne photographer, Tim Perroud has always been the creative type. In third grade he and a friend would draw battleships and airplanes for his teacher, who was a WWII veteran. Around this same time, his mother gave him an old “Brownie” camera to mess around with. In high school, he took all the art classes possible. Several aptitude tests pointed strongly toward photography, which sparked an immediate interest with Tim. With his graduation money he purchased his first real 35mm SLR and took a “basic camera operations” class. He was hooked. The following semester he enrolled in the Media Studies Institute for Photography at Lansing Community College.

In 1992 he enlisted in the Navy and used his acquired photography skills as he photographed for the ships cruise book. Tim was then assigned by his Commanding Officer as Assistant Recreation Services Officer aboard the USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3). After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he began shooting weddings and portraits for a few photographers and also worked in several photo labs as a lab technician, processing film, printing and making custom enlargements in the dark room. He also freelanced for several newspapers in the area. He was on the Board of directors of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) Michigan Chapter from 2001-2003. In 2003, Tim moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. During this transition he started to really push himself creatively by beginning to photograph commercial and editorial work.

Tim continues to shoot mostly commercial and editorial assignments as he resides in a beautiful Fort Wayne neighborhood with his wife Mandy and their son, Ty. When Tim is not behind his camera or in front of the computer, he enjoys doing things as a family, learning to play the guitar, listening to music, and attempting to fly his remote control helicopter… which is usually broken and hasn’t had much, if any, real flight time.
